And also, are there pubs where people hang around? I remember one village in Ireland where there were 5 houses ans 3 of them were pubs. I think Scots are similar?

How many tourists or other campers you meet on thr way? Also, was this in the Summer or recently? Camping must be cold… thank you for this account!

Good questions! Not much pub culture. There's about 3 in Stornoway – often quite a good atmosphere – but outside Stornoway it's primarily bars attached to hotels. Some of which are quite cosy and attract locals, I think. (I'd have tried the Cross Inn at Ness if it hadn't been Sunday.)

Few tourists at this time of year, but as the weather was good (this was a week ago) there was a small number of campervans about. In the summer it gets very busy, and set to get busier since Stornoway now has capacity for cruise ships. 😬
